Two distinct concepts share this board: an owing is a short-supply (stock was not on hand); a split-dispensing plan is a planned multi-supply of an in-stock item for stock/clinical reasons — each split its own supply event + DN (§2.16 / SP-1). A split plan never fires an owing event and never enters the StockIQ re-order loop.

Sch 2/3 CD owing balances (and split-plan supplies) cannot be supplied after day 28 (SM-7 / SP-2) — auto-expiry creates a patient-notification task. Resolving an owing unblocks the claim. Split plans are managed on the split-plan detail screen.
